It seems nearly every day we hear about a crisis somewhere in the world and that means many of the children we work with are experiencing, seeing, and hearing words andimages they may find frightening. The world can feel very scary for the children and families we support. Educators and early childhood professionals play key roles as media mentors in guiding children and families through the headlines and experiences. Barbara Kolucki, educator and trainer with Rain Barrel Communications and co-author of UNICEF’s Communicating with Children, and child development expert and Technology in Early Childhood(TEC Center) Program Coordinator, Tamara Kaldor will teach you how to support children and families using play, storytelling, and technology tools to help children and families to communicate and process their emotions.
