TEC Center friend and founder of Raising Digital Natives, Devorah Heitner, Ph.D., posted a thoughtful Edutopia blog for educators who work with digital age parents and families, “Empathy and Research: Engaging Parents With Tech Initiatives.” Devorah writes, “When teachers and administrators approach parents as experts on their kids and valued players on the team, schools obtain valuable information from parents about student ‘user experience’ that can refine and improve a technology initiative.” She offers 6 Dos and 3 Don’ts for educators interested in empowering parents and connecting the dots between family engagement and technology.
